Current Netflix binge

I first saw this on a random Instagram post and was immediately captivated. The show isn’t necessarily popular, and I hate Netflix for not recommending the program earlier on. It is a game show on gardening and flower arrangement, which might sound weird to some people, but for me, it makes perfect sense! The best parts are the unexpected wholesomeness and its whole aesthetic.

The show mainly focuses on plant sculptures, with sizes bigger than life, anywhere from 2–10 meters. They used plants straight out from your imagination of an English garden, anything from grass to cut flowers.

The participants are teams of two, and their casting is done perfectly. I can feel the love and unique bond between the team members, which makes it very cute and warms your heart.

Jim and Ralph are a father and son combo, their projects feel very sincere and pure, which are hard things to do remembering their difficult tasks. Instead of being overwhelmed, they bring out the beauty in the mundane. To be honest, I was unsure of quite a few of their projects at the start, but they successes in capturing my heart every time.

Their aesthetics are second to none, both the flower used or the skills. It might felt unfair, but some teams are artists and event decorators. The flowers are such a feat, they’re in their tip-top shape, and the amount is mind-boggling. Living in a less developed country than the UK, the plants are out of this world for me really.

The more artistic teams, like Yan and Henck and Ryan and Andrew, took the show to the next level. Their artistic mind and loads of hard work betray my initial expectations, in the best way possible.

All in all, I didn’t regret spending my time watching all 8 episodes, and I recommend it for anyone who's looking for a chill show. I watch it with my mum since she is also a flower nerd.
